The heart of our work at Embrace Your Essence is honoring the intertwined tapestry of your body-mind-emotions-spirit. We understand that you are more than a summation of separate parts. Your hopes, beliefs, relationships, habits, past, biology, and trials blend to contribute to the dynamic human being that you are. When one aspect is out of whack, it affects the whole. Yet, when it is brought back into balance it buoys the rest of who you are. The key is to nourish the systems that influence all parts of you. That is why the foundation for the healing at Embrace Your Essence is through energy work modalities such as Reiki. Science has found that everything in the universe is made of energy when we examine it in its simplest form (including our bodies, thoughts, and emotions). Why not get to the imbalance at the source, and let the effects ripple into all aspects of our lives?

The People I Work With
As humans, we are nuanced and complex. None of us like to be put into a box. In fact, if you’ve found your way here, you may be ready to break free from externally imposed labels. That being said, many of the people who find their way to this work identify as one (or more) of the following:
Before people find their way to me, they’ve often (though not always) already tried other approaches to resolve their issue. Many have tried counseling, or amped up their self-care with yoga, meditation, adjusting their diet, or reading self-help books. Some may have worked with massage therapists, acupuncturists, or other healers. Others have tried prescription (or recreational) drugs, perhaps reluctantly. These techniques may have provided some relief, though it may not be to the extent that they were hoping for. Many are looking to explore healing and growing from another angle.
Perhaps none of the descriptions above land with you, but you still feel drawn to this work. No matter who you are, if you feel called to dive in and work with me, I would be honored to support you.
- Struggling with anxiety. This anxiety may be showing up as a base-line under the surface, to the extreme of panic attacks, or somewhere in between. You may be experiencing depression as well.
- A “feeler”, highly sensitive, or empath. Do you experience emotional reality deeply? Perhaps you feel the emotional and/or physical pain of others. You may not yet know how to work with these abilities in a balanced way, and may feel burdened with overwhelm, confusion, or feel drained. You may also be ready to shed the labels from others who have called you “too sensitive” or “weak” because of your feeling nature.
- Wanting to explore the how your body-mind-spirit may be interconnected regarding a physical issue you are experiencing. You want to unravel the pattern from the source, and more than a band-aid, or quick fix. You want deep healing and growth. Perhaps the physical ailment is severe, such as cancer, or a stroke. Maybe it is more subtle, or long-lasting like a chronic cough, or digestive complaints. You may have issues that are unexplained or unrecognized by Western Medicine. No matter how the imbalance is physically manifesting, there is potential we can support you in your healing.
- Wanting to deepen your connection to Spirit, and perhaps, serve others. You may want to receive greater clarity, guidance, and support to live your life in alignment with who you really are as much as possible. This may also mean cultivating your connection with your gifts, so your can hold space for and be of service to others.
